Material Description: 1.2738 steel is an alloyed, tempered tool steel and is characterized by a high level of hardenability due to larger wall thickness sections (over 400 mm) and good hardenability up to above 52 HRC. 1.2738 is the type produced in the higher hardness range of HH 2738 (HH-High Hard). It is preferred for molding more abrasive plastics.

Applications: Polymers up to A1 surface quality and not containing more than 10% reinforcement can be used as a core in all kinds of plastic injection molds, Automotive trim molds, panels in white goods, etc. It is used as a mold holder, as a hot runner distributor, In extrusion molds of non-corrosive plastics, In the sleeves of extrusion presses, Machine parts, wear plates, Plastic pressing, compression molds.
Condition of delivery: 1.2738 - Pre-hardened 264 - 320 HB (28 - 34 HRC),
1.2738HH - Pre-hardened between 310 - 355 HB (33 - 38 HRC)
